GOING PLACES, Album Cover
This project was so much fun, and I learned a lot in the process. Creating a cartoon of someone was something I hadn't done before, but I was up for the challenge.
Danny was looking for someone to create art for his music album cover that was about to be released. Our mutual friend connected us and began to send me various examples of the art he was looking for. Many of the examples shared had a street vibe, with an urban twist. The looks were simple, with a few colors.
I tried a few different techniques to accomplish similar styles like the examples before settling on this one. I felt this style of art was different in the way that it also has a funky vibe. It is also simple enough that it isn't overpowering. From the two variations I sent to Danny to choose from, he settled on the cartoon with the blue shirt. I personally like the 'shirtless' look from the two variations, but I really enjoyed working on both.
